I’ve been getting into the collagen craze lately, and I’m quite happy about it. So much so, that I’ve been taking a liking to having collagen smoothies almost everyday. I know what you’re thinking, the term collagen smoothie doesn’t sound the most appealing, but trust me, it’s delicious.
I haven’t always been super diligent about supplements but collagen is one I can get on board with. So, if you’ve heard of collagen but aren’t super familiar about what it does, let me give you a brief intro. Collagen is great for your skin, hair, nails, joints and it helps promote a healthy immune system.
I’ve been using the Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides which I’ve been loving thus far, especially because it’s tasteless (full disclosure: I hate protein shakes because I can’t stand the taste of protein).
I’m also quite thrilled that Vital Proteins offers products in various flavours. For instance, I tried the Collagen Beauty Water that I’m really excited about because of all of the flavours offered. There’s Lavender Lemon, Vanilla & Coconut Water and even a Melon Mint flavour.
Check out my recipe below for my go-to collagen smoothie bowl.
1 serving Vital Proteins
1 cup almond milk
2 tbs almond butter
1 cup frozen berries
1 tbs honey
1 cup greek yogourt
1 banana, chia, pumpkin & hemp seeds, almonds, frozen berries (for garnish)
Combine all ingredients (except for garnishes) into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour your smoothie into a bowl and add the garnishes. Enjoy!
